Chief’s Message:

On behalf of the men and women of the Rama Police Service, welcome to our website.  Every effort has been made to construct a user friendly site with valuable information that aims to answer your most relevant questions.

The Rama Police Service is a self-administered, standalone organization that provides 24/7 service to the residents and visitors of Rama. Our sworn police officers have authority throughout the Province of Ontario and attain the same credentials as any other police officer in the province.  They also receive some of the best training offered to Canadian police agencies and most officers are cross-trained in specialized functions which enables them to fulfill a variety of responsibilities in a highly complex and demanding environment.

Our organization is nestled within a proud and progressive community that truly reflects and exemplifies the sense of ‘community.’  As a result, our officers embrace the practices of community policing through positive relationships, ongoing partnerships and participation in various functions through diverse stakeholder groups.  Our visitors are also important to us, as there are up to 15,000 visitors per day that attend the well known Casino Rama.  This equates to a small town living under one roof on any given day.  Our officers serve the various needs of our visitors while attending the Casino and aim to maintain the highest level of public safety for everyone at all times.

I encourage you to explore our website and review our Mission, Vision and Guiding Principles, as well as our new three-year strategic plan.  All of our members participated in the construction of this important document which begins to set our course for the coming years.  As a young organization, we will continue to grow, develop and prosper into the future.

Thank you for visiting our website and showing an interest in the Rama Police Service.  I hope you will enjoy your tour.

John C. Domm M.O.M., MA, BAA, CMMIII
Chief of Police
